A charming old farmhouse, beautifully modernised in a comfortable holiday house with private swimming pool near Almancil in the Algarve. The property is set amidst the glorious scenery of green hills cultivated with olives and vines. The holiday house is over 100 years old and is built around a beautiful courtyard on a 5,500m2 plot of land. Its old world ambience and tranquility never fails to inspire harmony and peace. The tree filled private garden with different coloured bougainvillea is the perfect place to sit back and relax under its magnificent enchanted palm tree. The large fresh water swimming pool offers an area where you can relax and soak up the Portuguese sun; the pool area is particularly attractive with its own bar, sitting room with log fire, outside dinning area and BBQ. The holiday house consists of a main house (340m2), pool house (280m2), which overlooks the swimming pool and stable house (guest house 120m2) with high bamboo ceiling, old bread fireplace and old stable doors leading out onto the courtyard on one side and vegetable garden (eg. carob, almond and citrus trees) on the other. The main house contains a large well-equipped kitchen and generously sized dining areas. The rooms are all simple authentic Portuguese style, light, spacious and decorated with traditional items. The holiday house is just a 10 min. drive away from the centre of Almancil and Loulé with its vibrant market. For sports and relaxation, the Algarve is the right place to be, the neighbourhood offers various types of sport, leisure and entertainment activities (incl. golf, tennis, all seaside activities, fine choice of restraunts & beach bars). The house is situated just 15 min. from Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago golf courses with their beaches edged with brightly coloured cliffs. The natural reserve Ria Formosa (10km) and the south western tip of Europe, Cabo de São Vicente (81km) are well worth a visit. With all this and more is the house an excellent place where friends and families can relax in its spacious setting and warm and friendly atmosphere. Note: twice each week cleaning service is included. The caretaker Victor lives on site (in a separate cottage on the property) and maintains everything and is a fountain of knowledge about the surrounding areas. If required he will collect you from the airport or make other arrangements. There is also a possibility to hire a cook (prices on request).
