There is a well maintained garden in front of the house, where you have your own terrace and lawn, which is lovely on a beautiful summer day. In Ludwigsstad you will find a sun-heated swimming pool while in nearby Lobenstein (20 km), there is the beautiful Ardesia spa complex for when the weather is less lovely. In addition, the residence is a perfect base for beautiful walks along the Rennsteig or active mountain bike excursions through the surrounding hilly landscape. For something different, visit the cultural cities of Erfurt, Eisenach and Weimar. In the winter, you have a wide choice of small ski areas, while in Oberhof, there is a complete winter sports centre with all kinds of facilities.
