There are many walking paths in and around Breitenberg. The famous hiking path Goldsteig runs directly past the house. The swimming lake with water slides and boat rental is ideal for families. The animal enclosure in the national park is a favourite excursion destination for families with children. A further highlight is the 'three-rivers-city' Passau with its Dome and beautiful old town. For langlauf and Nordic walking enthusiasts the ski area with its 20 km long slopes is ideal. In Dreisessel and Hochficht (Austria) you will find well-maintained ski and snowboard runs.
