Calvinet is situated 30 km. south of the charming town of Aurillac and between the towns of Montsalvi (15 km) and Maurs (18 km). The most southern part of the Cantal, the "Châtaigneraie", also known as "the land of the chestnuts", borders with the Aveyron region. Plenty of possibilities: the area is great for undertaking bicycle and walking excursions with established routes and swimming, fishing and sunbathing is possible at the different lakes, such as the lake of Le Rouget, Lac d'Omps and the reservoir of St. Etienne-Cantalès. But also on the river Lot, it is possible to rent a canoe or kayak in Vieillevie. From early April through October, you can visit many traditional and folkloric (village) parties in the weekends. Definitely worth a visit are the markets with regional products, of which the largest one takes place every Thursday morning in Maurs. The large detached holiday home is a converted farm barn, that used to belong to the farm house La Pretegarde and which was realised in September 2007. The home is light and spacious, comfortably and tastefully furnished and consists of two floors. Furthermore, it enjoys a view over the green hillside nearby. Details: This home is situated next to La Pentegarde (FR-15340-03). However, the houses do not look out upon each other, so you have enough privacy.
