The Ferry Inn, a traditional country pub which adjoins the cottage was built in 1690 and The Saxon Shore Way, a 163 mile footpath along the old Roman coastline, runs directly past making both the pub and the cottage a popular choice for walkers and cyclists. The picturesque village of Appledore is only twenty five minutes walk or a five minute drive away. The Ancient Cinque port of Rye is six miles away and Tenterden seven miles.
